We absolutely loved everything about the Tour! The crew (Sousa Gio Chico) was fabulous, they enjoyed their work and you could really tell. Drinks were awesome, especially the local wines. They even had vegetarian snack alternatives available and it all tasted good. We were very lucky and were able to see a huge amount of pilot whales and also some dolphins. Even though our original time slot had to be rescheduled due to low season, the whole organization and communication was very well done. We loved that the whole crew was giving out a lot of informations, restaurant recommendations included. We would absolutely book this tour again if we had enough time.

Full description

Your 3-hour luxury catamaran tour begins at the docks of the new marina of Funchal. Board the catamaran and enjoy a glass of sparkling wine before setting off. Sail into the ocean to find dolphins, whales, and turtles. Spot these creatures in their natural habitat. After sailing around spotting dolphins, whales and turtles enjoy a 30 minute stop next to Cabo Girão, the 1920 foot (586m) seaside cliff. Here you have a change o go swimming in the crystal clear waters. After a quick swim, you will get back on the boat where you can relax and enjoy the views of the coast of Funchal as you head back to the marina.

Whale watching was an amazing trip, the crew were all very friendly and kind. We saw pilot whales! Limited numbers on a spacious boat meant the experience was much better than being on a bigger more crowded ship. I sadly suffered seasickness but the crew were incredibly kind and looked after me well!
