1. From Tel Aviv: Petra 2-Day Tour

Our two fully-packed days begin in Tel Aviv, as we head toward the Jordanian border. We cross at the King Hussein / Allenby border, and enter Jordan, driving through the Judean desert for about an hour. We continue towards Madaba, an ancient Jordanian city, and go up to the viewpoint of Mount Nebo. Then we will have lunch. From here we will go to a Bedouin camp near Petra where you will enjoy Bedouin hospitality, including an Arab-style dinner and a comfortable bed for the night. Before going to sleep, sit beneath the clear desert skies and stargaze, as you drink a cup of delicious Bedouin tea.. On the second day we will tour Petra. One of the seven wonders of the world, and Jordan’s most treasured attraction, Petra is an unforgettable place. It was carved into the red rocks of the soaring cliffs in the early 1st century as the tomb of a Nabataean king, and was hidden under sand for centuries before recently becoming accessible again. We will enter through the Siq, a narrow gorge, and tour the Treasury and Amphitheater with our guide who will explain the sites and history as you marvel at the beauty of each structure. Then you will have free time to continue individually as you wish: climb to the Royal Tombs, walk down the Roman Cardo, hike up to the Monastery, and explore the different sites. We will meet up for lunch in Wadi Musa before returning back to Jerusalem via the Allenby border crossing. 6. Private Half-Day Tour to Madaba and Mount Nebo

Enjoy a half-day tour of Mount Nebo and Madaba from Amman City. Your private English-speaking driver will pick you up at your hotel. Situated 10 kilometers west of Madaba overlooking the Jordan Valley is Mount Nebo, one of the alleged sites of the tomb of Moses. The summit of this lonely windswept site command spectacular views over the Dead Sea to the West Bank and Jerusalem. You can see the springs where Moses smote the ground to bring forth water. Just 20 minutes south of Amman, on the King's Highway, is the mosaic-filled city of Madaba. Crowned by a small church, this historic town lies in the middle of Jordan's most fertile land. In many respects, Madaba is an atypical East Bank town that differs in one major aspect: underneath almost every house lies a fine Byzantine mosaic. Many of these mosaics have been excavated and are on display in the town's museum, but it is estimated that many more lies hid waiting to be discovered. The finest mosaic found to date is still in its original place on the floor of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. Had a fantastic day seeing the sites of the Holy Land in Jordan. Mohammed Al Na Na (apologies if incorrect name spelling) was our driver and he instantly made us comfortable and told us some of the history of the sites. Mohammed was very flexible with the trip giving us plenty of time in each place - visits to the baptismal site are timed though as visitors must be escorted due to the proximity to the Palestinian border. Mohammed's car was very comfortable and the private tour is the best way to see these places especially in the summer heat.

Interesting ancient mosaic tiles floor inside Madaba Christian Church, and traditional production of mosaic tiles in local factory. Mount Nebo as last place visited by Moses to oversee the "promised land", good for Christian believers to visit. Good services by the tour operator, R&H VIP Transportation Services, entry fees to Madaba Church and Mount Nebo included in tour. Value for money, and worthwhile half-day tour from Amman.

Excellent trip. Covered everything and more. Our driver was Basil and he was great-safe, knowledgeable and gave us lots of tips for visiting. Lots of beautiful places covered.

Excellent place for peace and meditation, perfect man / nature balance, excellent driver service, incredible people.
