Fantastic! We did this tour as a family (3 children aged 8-9-11) and loved it :-)! It was a bit of a rude awakening at 3am, but the day belongs to those who get up early 😆 ! The weather was perfect, the sunrise wonderful, and we had the chance / opportunity to see a good dozen walabis and kangaroos. At first, you don't see much and don't even realize that they're right in front of you on the beach, in the half-light. This tour wouldn't have had the same flavor without Michelle, our very friendly guide, who was exceptional in terms of welcoming, explanations, punctuality, very conscientious and pleasant driving (with a cool playlist), as well as her very relaxed personality and her knowledge. We even had the chance to enjoy her delicious homemade muffins at the breakfast organized by the tour. The on-site ranger was also very helpful with his precise explanations/knowledge and availability. And to top it all off, he gave us a little didgeridoo concert/history, a real talent.

Full description

The most picturesque time to see the wallabies and kangaroos on the beach at Cape Hillsborough is at Sunrise. Get up close and personal with these iconic Australian marsupials, waking up early is worth it! After being collected from Mackay, you will arrive at the national park at dawn to catch a glimpse of the wallabies and kangaroos that come to the shoreline to feed on mangrove seed pods washed up by the tide. Spend time walking along the shoreline and taking in all the beauty of the sunrise. Our air-conditioned vehicles allow a comfortable adventure in a small group environment as you travel to explore the Cape Hillsborough National Park, where the rainforest meets the sea. Departs: Sep - Mar Approx 4am/Apr - Aug 5am Returns: Approx 9am/10am
