Discover the Inca ruins and hike up Machu Picchu Mountain at your own pace with this official entrance ticket to the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Sacred Valley. This offer includes the entrance ticket to the Machu Picchu lost citadel and access to the Machu Picchu mountain hike. Only 800 people are allowed to enter the Machu Picchu Mountain per day, divided into 2 groups. The first group can access the Mountain from 07:00 to 08:00 am and the second group from 09:00 to 10:00 am. The ascent to the Machu Picchu Mountain depends on the physical condition of the individual and can range from 2-3 hours. From the top of Machu Picchu Mountain, you will be able to enjoy impressive views of the surrounding peaks, valleys, and winding Urubamba River.

It took us about 90-100 minutes from Auges Calientes to the entrance gates of Machu Picchu. We were there around 8:30-8:45. It did not takes us long to get in. After that we went straight up to Machu Picchu Mountain. This hike took us about two hours up and one hour down. You should be there early, because the Mountain closes quite early. So in order to spend some time on the mountain, enjoying the landscape, the views and taking some nice shots, you should be up there around 11 am. At the latest. The clouds move rapidly. Do not become desperate if Machu Picchu is covered in clouds for the first 30 minutes. Just be patient and wait. Enjoy the wind, the height and the view. It is absolutely worth it.

Walking through the Machu Picchu ruins and hiking on Machu Picchu Mountain was one of the most tiring, but worthwhile experiences I think I will ever have. I organized this trip myself and had to do lots of research on how to get to the site, what I needed to bring, how to get a guide when I got up to the ruins. There is lots of logistics, so I suggest you research your trip before going, but it is definitely worth your money.

I definitely recommend buying your entrance ticket ahead of time online here with Get Your Guide. I received my ticket via email shortly after purchasing online, and I was able print it off and use it to enter without any issues! I also recommend paying a little extra to do Machu Picchu Mountain. The hike was strenuous, but the view was amazing!
