This was my favorite of all the excursions I did in Lyon. The first stop was at a church with a stunning view of rolling hills, vineyards, and a small village or two. The guide gave a lesson on the production of Beaujolais wines, and then we tasted a white wine, a rose, and a red wine, with a croissant. Next we were driven to the beautifully quaint town of Oingt and had time to explore. After this we went to a vineyard that has been in the same family for three generations, and saw a 100 year old vine that is still producing grapes. We again tasted probably 15 more wines, with bread and cheese. We also went inside the area where the grapes are processed and the wine is aged and stored. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly.

Megan was an amazing guide. She was a fountain of knowledge about Lyon, past and present. She was clearly prepared with lots of photos and historical photos to whip out as she presented. The shops we visited were top-notch and the tastings were plentiful. You don't need lunch after the tour. In fact, we skipped dinner.

Our guide, David, was very knowledgeable, we learned a lot about Lyon, in an interesting and entertaining way. The food tastings were excellent, we especially liked the visit to the cheese shop. I highly recommend the tour!
