I wish i had read the reviews prior to booking. Its no surprise that this was the only "food" tour that had availability while I was in Lyon. As a historical tour, its great. Jeremy was very knowledgable. This is not a food tour. It is a historical tour of a specific area with the occasional stop for a quick bite. We spent more time at a silk store than we did at 3 out of 4 of the food stops. It was a little more than an hour before we stopped at our first place to eat. It was more of a sweets tour since there was only one place we had something savory.

We had a great time walking around Lyon and learning about the city's history and how it has impacted food and drink in the region. It was however maybe a bit lacking in food, seeing as we mostly had sweet stops and the servings at the other stops were a bit small. The guide was great though and kept up spirits in the group in the extreme heat

This was an interesting tour and I learned a lot about Lyon and some unique things to eat but I would not call it a food tour. You have a few samplings, mostly sweets throughout your walking tour. Do not come hungry. If you have an afternoon tour, eat lunch first. I was left lightheaded and dizzy from the amount of sugar on an empty stomach. By far the best stop is the first stop with learning about the charcuterie. The tour guide is knowledgeable and informative about the city and the food. But compared to other city food tours this one is lacking in food.
