From Tromsø: Fun and Easy Dog Sledding Adventure

The tour departs from the city center of Tromsø from where you will head out on a scenic 50-minute bus transfer to our camp in Breivikeidet. Upon arrival at our camp in Breivikeidet, situated in a picturesque valley close to the sea, you will be welcomed by our friendly staff. We will provide you with thermal suits, boots, hats and mittens before heading out on our dogsledding adventure. Your guide will go through the safety instructions and show you the basics of driving the sled. After listening carefully to the demonstration and a few minutes of practice, you will enjoy driving on the open fields and inside the forest trails with the mountains of the Lyngen Alps as your backdrop. Two people will share one sled: one as a driver and the other one as a passenger, and you will get the chance to swap places halfway through the tour. This will provide everyone with the opportunity to experience the life of a dog musher and to take all the photographs they want while being a passenger. After your dog sledding ride and arriving back at the camp, you are invited into our lavvu (indigenous Sami tent), where you can enjoy a hot drink and cake around the campfire. Once you changed back to your normal clothes, and waved one last goodbye to the huskies, it is time to board back the bus to Tromsø.

Due to the bad weather, we were not able to sled with the reindeers. It is our sole reason for jumping on this activity. Nevertheless, we were able to feed them with buckets of reindeer cuisine and take glamorous photos as they run in herds. Our guide was absolutely apparent when it came to partial refund because of the sledding. Hence, it was a memorable opportunity to touch reindeers, salivate over sami delicacies, and now I am eager to learn the northern lights dance. Our guides were so friendly and welcoming that we might just find a time to try this activity again and hopefully sled with the reindeers. Not only were we able to get to know them but also taste their meat during our Sami culture lesson. Thank you our dearest guides, but were can I get one of them Sami bridal belts? I'm in dire need of a partner.

Great ! We learn a lot about Sami culture, in addition to enjoying a sleigh ride. Feeding the reindeer was awesome too. In the top !

The structure of the visit could be better. When we needed one and the other was very loose. Otherwise super experience

Magnificent The only regret is the little time spent driving the sled compared to the explanations

The Sami Guide and his talk on Sami Culture was fascinating. The reindeer were beautiful.
