Visit the Valley of the Nobles and the Workers Valley on the outskirts of Luxor. See the mortuary temple of Rameses III at Habu Temple, and learn more about the pharaohs and workers of Ancient Egypt.
What to Expect
Take a half-day tour from Luxor to visit the Valley of the Nobles and the Workers Valley in the arid landscape of the west bank of the Nile.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Luxor, and enjoy the services of an academic Egyptologist guide, as well as transport in an air-conditioned vehicle.
During the 4-hour tour you will visit the 2 tombs of the nobles, Sennefer and Rekhmire. The tombs of the Nobles contain some of the finest relief work and truly stunning paintings that decorate the tombs of governors, viziers, and priests.
Continue to the Valley of the Workers, site of a complete village that housed the skilled craftsmen and laborers that worked on the tombs in the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and the Valley of the Nobles.
See small, modest houses packed against winding streets. The workers built and decorated their own tombs at the necropolis of Deir el-Medina. Discover the 2 tombs of Inerkhau, one of the leading craftsmen of the village, and the tomb of the Ancient Egyptian artisan Sennedjem.
End your tour at the temple of Rameses III. Located on the west bank of Luxor, Madinat Habu is one of Egypt’s best preserved and most interesting temples. It takes its name from the ancient word for an ibis, the symbol of the god Thoth, who has a Ptolemaic Period temple a few hundred meters to the south.
