What to Expect
Journey to two of the most important historic location in ancient Egypt, the Karnak Temple Complex and the Luxor Temple. You will be picked up from your hotel in a comfortable, modern vehicle at around 08:00 h. From there, your knowledgeable and friendly tour guide will take you back in time to Egypt’s famous past.

First, visit the Luxor Temple. This classic Egyptian temple is dedicated to several gods: Amun, Mut, and Chons. Walk through its immense courtyard walled with stunning, hieroglyph-engraved walls and see the huge granite statues of Ramses the Great.

Proceed by carriage or bus to the fascinating Karnak Temple Complex. This history-packed area is actually a series of temples, chapels, and other buildings. These structures, built by different pharaohs during different years, are mostly in ruins. Beginning at the Avenue of Sphinxes, you will have the opportunity to visit the Unfinished Propylon, the Hypostyle Hall with its 134 gigantic columns, the Obelisks of Queen Hatchepsut and Tutomosis III, the temple of Amun adorned with lotus and papyrus designs, and the Granite Scarab of Amenophis III.

While at the Karnak Temple Complex, take advantage of the chance to visit the Sacred Lake. This manmade lake is the largest temple lake in Egypt and used for purification. Also, be sure to explore the hieroglyphs and reliefs carved in the temple walls and ask if you have any questions about the gods or what the pictures represent.

At the end of your day tour, you will be returned to you hotel. Spend the rest of your time exploring the area around you, taking care to get a feel for the modern Egyptian culture as well as the ancient!
