Full description
Experience some of Switzerland’s most legendary sights and stories as you trace the heroic legend of William Tell on this full-day hike and cruise from Lucerne.
Begin with a ride to the historic village of Altdorf, where William Tell shot the apple off of his son's head. From Altdorf a local bus whisks you to Buerglen, the birthplace of William Tell and where your guide will provide a snapshot of his life in the 13th century.
From Buerglen, follow William Tell's footsteps as you walk back to Altdorf. Stroll trough this historic town before beginning your hike on the Swiss Path. After an hour of hiking, stop for lunch (not included) at the garden terrace of Tell Restaurant and enjoy its spectacular view of Lake Uri and the surrounding Alps.
After lunch, walk down to the William Tell Chapel. Continue another 50 minutes to Sisikon, and board the train to the lakeside resort of Brunnen. Once there, visit the Swiss Army Knife Visitor Center and enjoy a coffee along the famous lakeside promenade before boarding a boat for a scenic, two-hour cruise back to Lucerne.
