Full description

Embark on a day trip from Lucerne and ascend Mount Pilatus by cable car. Go on a hike and kick pack on the panorama terrace, descended the mountain by cogwheel railway, and complete your experience with a return journey by boat. Depart Lucerne and relax aboard a comfortable coach on the drive to Kriens. Then, climb aboard the panoramic gondolas and journey to Fräkmüntegg to board the aerial Dragon Ride cable car up the mountain. Get magnificent views of the snow-capped peaks from the panoramic windows. Arrive at the top of Mt. Pilatus, 2,132 meters above sea level and feel like a bird as you survey your surroundings. Hike to the summit or venture down the Dragon Trail where dragons with healing powers were thought to live in the Middle Ages. Relax on the panoramic terrace and take in the magnificent vistas of the mountains and lakes. Eat at one of the restaurants to enjoy lunch on top of the world. Get ready for the ride of a lifetime as you descend the mountain on the world's steepest cogwheel railway. Arrive in Alpnachstad to embark on a one-hour cruise back to Lucerne on the beautiful "Lake of the 4 Cantons" (only during summer).

  • From May 9th - 12th, 2024: the ascent and descent will be made by cable car, the boat ride and a voucher for a soft drink are included
  • From October 21st to November 8th, 2024: the ascent and descent will be made by cogwheel train due to the revision of the cable car
  • From November 9th - 15th, 2024: the ascent will be made by cable car, and the descent will be by cogwheel train
  • From October 21st - November 17th, 2024, there will not be a boat ride so a lunch voucher will be included instead

Booking process has been easy and a WhatsApp number is available for direct correspondences. This is helpful when we are there to check up on meeting point. The guide for day trip to Mt Pilatus was clear with the instructions and suggestions on how we can choose to spend our time on the Mountain. (If recall correctly, the guide was Yolanda. She is friendly and goes around to chat with the guests.) One thing that can be improved is to share more knowledge about Mt Pilatus. I asked how many peaks are there on this mountain and her reply was not very clear. Also maybe she could alert us that there is more than one peak viewpoint, so that we may allocate enough time to climb up to the other viewpoint. We may need to cut down time at the lower level.

Excelente tour y el Sr. Robert fue un magnífico guía. Realmente, me faltó tiempo pues, para mi, las 2 horas no me alcanzaron para subir las 3 vertientes (hice 2), hacer el camino que rodea la montaña y el túnel en la roca que sale desde el hotel... Solo hice ambos parcialmente.

The guide and transportation was all good, but there was no view from the top as it was a cloudy day. Obviously there’s nothing to be done the change the clouds but just worth noting as you consider trip timing. I though the even with some clouds we’d still get a bit of a view from the top for there was no visibility in any direction.
