Full description
Start your tour by meeting your guide at your accommodation. Here, enjoy a pleasant meet and greet with your guide before making your way to the train station in Basel. Hop aboard an intercity train and within 1-hour you will step foot in the amazing city of Lucerne.  Once you step off the platform, you'll first visit the famous Concert Hall, designed by Jean Nouvel, a magnificent building whose architecture is worthy of marveling at. On the walk with your tour guide, you will head toward the wooden "Chapel Bridge", a 200-meter long pedestrian crossing bridge. Your informative guide will tell you fascinating facts about the history of the bridge and its paintings. Continue on your tour with a stroll through the car-free inner city circle of the Old Town. Your tour guide will give you information about the houses and their origins from the 16th-century. Whilst here you'll also get to take a walk over the "Spreuer Bridge" and enjoy a coffee break along the "Reuss" river.  After your break, you will continue along the city wall, formerly used for defense purposes many centuries ago. At the end of the wall, you will find the famous Lion Monument, a rock relief that commemorates the massacres of Swiss guards during the French revolution. Your tour guide will lead you back to the boat station, where you'll board the panoramic yacht, which will take you out to lake Luzern. You may listen to the headphone comments during the tour, or just ask your tour guide about directions, mountains and, houses along the shore. After the one hour boat tour, you'll return to the train station in Lucerne en route back to Basel where your tour will finish.
