The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, but the tour was supposed to be in English and ended up being in both English and German, which meant that half the time people were just standing there waiting while the other language was spoken. The thing about doing a tour in 2 languages is that the other half will get bored and/or they start talking so then the ones whose turn it is to hear the info in their language have a hard time hearing. Again, the guide was great, but many of us said we were disappointed and felt like we would have seen more if the tour had been in one language because we would not have spent half the time waiting.

I booked this walking tour for the first morning I was in Lucerne. It was an excellent introduction to the city. It was interesting to learn about the history as well as what happens in Lucerne now. The guide was excellent and was able to give me information about other places to visit and trips I could do

Cristina was fantastic. She told us about buildings and their history as we walked around and brought a flip book of pictures to help us with the history. Extremely knowledgeable and she packed so much into two hours. The tour does not go to the Lion monument or the skeleton bridge but she told us the significance and how to get there so we saw those later. She also told us how to get to the old tower walk which we did right afterwards. Lucerne is small so everything is within 20 minutes walk. Her best tip at the end was to go to the top of the Manor store (Manora) for great views and a wonderful self serve restaurant with handmade food which was surprisingly less cost than a grocery store. We ate lunch there and returned for dinner. What a great way to get oriented to this beautiful city. We also did the 1 hour boat cruise at her suggestion and enjoyed that a lot.
