Excellent experience! We did the gondola first as we heard the lines were longer going up the cog. Throughly enjoyed the top of Mount Pilatus. Several easy hikes with incredible views. Topped it off with beer and pretzels before making our way down on the cog. The boat back to Lucerne was terrific. All around fun day!!

Do as everyone else suggested and start with the boat ride. BE SURE TO BRING A PRINTED COPY OF YOUR TICKETS. It is stunning everywhere and well worth the trip. I highly recommend when you take the cable car to the next down stop at Frakmuntegg. The views will take your breath away. There you can ride the alphine coaster 12CHF . We purchase some delicious Swiss cider to enjoy on our hike and relax. Hike down the mountain and stop at the little house, there is a man that owns all the goats and cows on the mountain. He sells cheeses and sausages and takes cash only. Yell, he is always home haha trust me. If you want a beautiful view for lunch, hike a bit more down the mountain and you will find Bergwirtschaft zur Alpgschwand. Amazing authentic swiss food. Be warn the hike back up is a bit intense from the incline. It is super rocky and can get cold quickly so wear layers. Make sure to be back as the last cable car goes at 4:30pm. Worth every penny. This trip was amazing!!! Worth spending your time up there! Make a full day of it and get your moneys worth! Just hang out and enjoy the scenery… and do a bit of walking, if you want to. You can always check out the live came before you go up, as I’m sure on a foggy day you can miss out on spectacular views.
