Luang Prabang Evening food tour by Tuktuk

Great tour of real local food and Amy was amazing. Lao hot pot was the favorite and the river weed snacks are not to be missed!! Lots of beers if that’s your thing, as well. Super chill and great evening. Maybe a little pricey but supply/demand. 😉 Would spend same again.

It was a great opportunity to learn about the food traditions and culture of Luang Prabang. The trip was a bit costly in relation to the amount of food provided, but was a good experience. It would have been nice to stop and see. The sunset with a welcome drink on the river and then go to the markets.

I like to go on a food tour whenever I’m anywhere new. What I liked about this tour was that the food we ate was customized to what I wanted to try. The menu was not preset so when we went to the food market Tony took the time to explain all the different dishes to me and allowed me to choose what I wanted to try. Many things I wouldn’t have known or been brave enough to try on my own. The food was great and I got to try many different traditional dishes and snacks. We ended the evening at a Laos tea house which was a lovely finale! The only thing I would have changed was the number of places we visited. We went to a local night market but we were there pretty early so many of the stalls were closed. We had a beer then went to the street food area of the main st night market. I would have liked to visit somewhere off the beaten track that was not so touristy. But overall I enjoyed my experience because the food was very tasty.
