Full description
One of the greatest ceremonies in Buddhism is the almsgiving. Participate in the ceremony with a local host. Line up with the devotees giving out the food the monks walking past.

Understand the procession and history behind it. After the ceremony, head to a temple to learn the art of meditation from a Dharma teacher at a Buddhist school. Ask any questions about meditation and Buddhism, and explore the temple.

Next, discover the Lao morning market, filled with curiosities such as snakes, insects, birds, rats, bee's wax and other fresh countryside herbs and vegetables. Head to a local noodle stall or porridge shop (depending on your preference) for a wonderfully local breakfast.

Visit Wat Mai, one of Luang Prabang's largest and most richly decorated temples. Hear about the history of this temple from your guide, before you are dropped off at the Luang Prabang National Museum to explore at your own leisure.
