Full description
Slow down and wander the streets of some of Provence’s most charming villages on a full-day, small-group tour through the Luberon region. With an expert and multilingual local guide, learn the history and experience the beauty of the towns of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Gordes, Roussillon, and Lourmarin.

Your driver-guide will meet you in Marseille at 9:00 AM. Riding in a comfortable van, make your way to the first stop on the tour: the town of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. Here you will visit the most famous Sunday antique market of Luberon. Surrounded by the river Sorge, it’s called the “Venice of Provence” for its waterways, canals, and bridges. Take some free time to discover the bustling market, prominent water wheels, and charming town.

Next, drive through expansive lavender fields on the lavender route to reach the renovated hilltop village of Gordes. Take in the stunning hillside views before continuing on to Roussillon, with its ocher cliffs and colorful houses. With time to explore on your own, stroll through the village or take a walk through a former quarry on the “Ocher Path” (entrance ticket not included).

Drive through the valley of Lourmarin and admire typical Provençal landscapes before reaching Lourmarin, an authentic village where the British author Peter Mayle used to live. On the last stop of the tour, take some time to admire the 18th-century castle and lovely town center before returning to Marseilles.
