Full description
Make your way to the Cutty Sark experience, part of the Royal Museums Greenwich complex, and climb aboard the sole surviving tea clipper, celebrated for her great voyages around the world. Initially built for the China tea trade and launched in 1869, the Cutty Sark’s original wooden planks and iron frames have been meticulously conserved. An ambitious 6-year conservation project saw the ship raised over 3 meters from the ground, giving visitors the unique opportunity to stand directly underneath this miracle of the oceans and observe her elegant lines and ground-breaking design. The Cutty Sark has now been developed into an award-winning museum and visitor experience, and your entrance ticket will allow you to explore her in full. Discover what life was like on board a true survivor of the seas, see the sailors' quarters and take the helm at the ship's wheel.

Visiting the Cutty Sark with my 3 year old grandson was a great adventure. We arrived by Uber boat and saw the ship first from the river with it’s tall masts standing out against the skyline. The staff were friendly and informative and we felt as if we were setting sail as we boarded the ship. My grandson loved exploring the lower decks and joining in the activities especially the interactive ones. Drawing a letter to send home and posting it onboard as well as navigating the ship home on the trade winds were real highlights for him. As we reached the top deck it was exciting to see the bunks and the galley and carpenters workshop, as well as having the chance to steer the ship at the wheel.

    Easy to use website

This was a very easy way to book ticketS and saved queuing but would have been good to be able to use the phone for them to scan instead of having to print off the tickets. Maybe it isn’t the same for all attractions but if on holiday this wasn’t really convenient as you need access to a printer. We did ask at the Cutty Sark but they said they need the printed ticket for the company

    Lovely day out

I returned to visit the cutty sark after my last visit (age 5) in 1975. My memory of it was very different. It had smelt and looked more authentic- I remember it having more dark wood on the flooring and smelt like an old musty ship. That visit and memory has inspired my love for history throughout my life.
