Spend Christmas Day exploring the West Country highlights of England on an 11-hour coach tour from London. Visit the magnificent Windsor Castle, see the stone circle at Stonehenge, and end in the Georgian City of Bath to admire the Roman Baths.
What to Expect
Explore some of the highlights of England’s scenic West Country on a full-day Christmas Day coach tour from London. Visit the City of Bath and fabled stones of Stonehenge, stopping en route at Windsor Castle.
Depart from London’s Victoria Coach Station at 08:45 and drive west to Windsor. Built high above the River Thames, Windsor Castle has been home to the Royal Family for 900 years and is still an Official Residence of the Queen. Admire the castle's imposing facade as you take a walking tour of the quiet town streets. The Queen traditionally spends Christmas in Windsor, so keep your eyes open for distinguished guests!
Continue to Stonehenge on Salisbury Plain. Still shrouded in mystery, the ancient stone circle is the most important prehistoric site in England, as well as a place of spiritual significance. Early legends link it with the story of Merlin and King Arthur, but for the last 100 years the Midsummer sunrise has attracted pagans and followers of the Ancient Order of Druids. The site is closed on Christmas Day, but you will get superb views from the road.
Your tour includes a traditional Christmas lunch in a beautiful village near Stonehenge, before the drive further west to the majestic City of Bath. Take a panoramic tour to see some of the finest Georgian architecture in Europe, including Bath Abbey, the Royal Crescent, and Assembly Rooms.
