The bus driver though smiling had an English accent issue making it very difficult to comprehend! But a very caring and thoughtful one. The time given to cover windsor castle was very less. It should be 4 hrs atleast. If you enjoy history and the sorroundings of such castles better to travel on own

Departing from Central London, your driver will take you straight to Windsor Castle for an extended visit. Upon arrival at Windsor Castle audio guides are available in different languages.

Windsor Castle
Steeped in history, Windsor Castle perches proudly on a lush wooded hill overlooking the Thames. Dating back to Norman times, with sweeping landscaped gardens and turreted Round Tower, it’s easy to see why it’s the King’s favorite weekend residence. Enjoy a fascinating through–the–keyhole peek at the lavish State Apartments, home to priceless artworks by Rembrandt and Leonardo da Vinci, and visit St. George’s Chapel, the atmospheric final resting place of former monarchs including Henry VIII. You can visit Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House, a truly incredible structure complete with working lifts, running water, electricity and wine bottles, all in miniature! This tour is unescorted and you will spend approximately 2 hours in Windsor Castle.

  • Windsor Castle is a working royal palace, sometimes it needs to be closed at short notice
  • You must bring the e-ticket provided to gain entry to this tour
  • Windsor Castle will be closed on December 25 & 26
  • St. George’s Chapel is closed to visitors on Sundays as services are held throughout the day. Worshippers are welcome to attend the services
  • The chapel closes at 4 PM during the week
  • Audio guides at Windsor Castle are available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Russian, and Spanish and are provided based on availability

Overall a wonderful experience!! Although our bus driver was delayed about 30 minutes getting out of London, through non of his own doing, he was overly apologetic and once we arrive in Windsor, allowed us to stay an extra 30 minutes at the castle and on the grounds! The entire experience was incredible!! The tour through the abby, seeing where the Queen & Prince Phillip are laid to rest, was a bittersweet highlight. Totally worth it!!
