Full description
Skip the line for VIP entrance into the Tower of London. Once inside you’ll watch the Opening Ceremony, a notable military ritual that officially opens the famous historical edifice. Following a brief overview from the Yeoman Warders – the tower guardians – you’ll be among the first people of the day to walk into the Jewel House to experience the Crown Jewels without the crowds that come later in the day. Next, your expert guide will lead you on a complete tour of the Tower of London, beginning with the Execution Site, on Tower Green, where many a noble lost their head. As you make your way from there to the Bloody Tower (where Sir Walter Raleigh was imprisoned for 13 years) and then to the Torture Chambers, you will get a firm sense of English history in all its gruesome forms. After a walk along the famous Tower Walls and a quick look inside the refurbished bedroom of Edward I, you’ll spy a “conspiracy” of the tower’s resident ravens. Your tour ends with a highlight as you step into the White Tower (the central tower, or ‘keep’), for a full tour of a refurbished medieval castle. Your guide will leave you inside the White Tower, but you'll be able to explore the other areas of the Tower of London on your own, including the Bestiary, Beauchamp Tower, and the Fusilier Museum. As the guided tour ends, you’ll also receive a flexible one-way boat pass for a London sightseeing river cruise to be used on any day and from any pier.

Too bad there is no visit with a French speaking guide. Because the guide we followed only spoke English, too bad because he had a lot of knowledge in history. In short, we did not understand everything... On the other hand, the great hour because we were able to see the Queen's jewels in peace.

Good getting in early to see the jewels. No lines and the opening ceremony was fun but not anything special. They unlock the doors and you get to watch. But early arrival on a busy tourist place was great! Didn’t realize this was a walking tour of over 3 hours. No instructions on meeting. Where was clear but not who. A flag would have been nice as we were all anxious at 8:23 when we had no tour guide. When she finally arrived things seemed a bit confusing and disjointed as did much of the tour. Her knowledge was good and humorous. Most folks seemed to enjoy the tour. I found it dragged and after about an hour I took off on my own. So can’t really give a full review. I saw the tour later and all were still there and seemed engaged. I’m just not a tour type unless the person is riveting and filled with history o can’t get myself from reading the signs. Not sure it was worth $70 since most tourists didn’t arrive until 10’or so but on a very busy day it was great getting there early!

The tour guide was waiting outside the Shop, as indicated in the instructions. She was friendly and informative. It was great being the first group allowed into the grounds. The ceremony was awesome. Our Beefeater was great, informative and funny. We went into most buildings in the grounds and heard great stories from our guide. This tour was one of the best experiences during my visit to London.
