Full description

Watch the streets of London fall away as you climb to Western Europe’s tallest viewing platform on the 72nd floor of The Shard. With a flexible ticket, spend as much time as you like enjoying panoramic views of the city, with visibility of up to 40 miles. Test your limits and step outside onto the open viewing platform on the 72nd floor, or admire the views from inside. Learn about London’s history through multimedia displays and exhibits, or simply sit back and enjoy the view from the champagne bar.  The Shard redefines London’s skyline and will soon be a dynamic symbol of the city, recognizable throughout the world. The unique building features a sculpted design of glass facets that incline inward without meeting at the top to allow the building to breathe naturally. Sneak a glance upward at the points of glass that form the top of the building, which reaches a height of 1,016 feet (310 meters). Finish up your journey in the boutique, where you can purchase a souvenir photograph.

The views were great! I booked late evening, 8.30pm, as I thought this would be a decent time to take photos when everything was lit up! I couldn’t fault their queuing/security process, everything was done extremely quickly and there was no waiting around. However I did think it was a bit overpriced for what it was. It was very crowded once you reached one of the four different levels, (two which had bars). And although there is no time limit on how long you can stay, you feel like you’ve seen everything after 10/15 minutes. The windows were dirty from the inside, so this along with the reflection, (which obviously couldn’t be helped) of the lights, made it a bit tricky to get reasonable photos. Overall an okay experience, glad to have done it and seen it, but wouldn’t do it again. You’d get to see about the same from St Paul’s, with much more to see and do whilst there.

Nickel, access is at the bottom of the Escalators. We were even able to board before our schedule. I advise, for amateur photographers, to dismount late enough to have a setting sun, wide-angle lens up to 50-60mm. The windows are not very clean... The view is top notch! I recommend for the price it's worth it!

A really great experience to see London from above! We didn't have to queue and got to the observation deck very quickly. Unlike the London Eye, you can spend as much time as you want here. The floor-to-ceiling windows all around allow a wonderful view of the whole of London. The platform is also very nicely designed and offers many pretty motifs for photos. Our backpack passed the check without any problems. As a precaution, we took out food and drinks beforehand. We spent a good hour on the platform and can fully recommend this sight. The fast elevator ride is also an experience for children.
