Full description

Visit the Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace and soak up its extravagance with a pre-booked entry ticket. Choose between various exhibitions to personalize your visit. Explore the courts and culture of Japan, Georgian style and society, or the masterpieces of the Palace.

Japan: Courts and Culture (runs until February 26, 2023)

The Courts and Culture exhibition includes rare pieces of porcelain and lacquer, samurai armor, embroidered screens, and diplomatic gifts from the reigns of James I to Queen Elizabeth II. Together, they offer a unique insight into the worlds of ritual, honor, and artistry linking the courts and cultures of Britain and Japan.

The collection holds some of the most significant examples of Japanese art and design in the western world. For the first time, highlights from this outstanding collection are brought together to tell the story of 300 years of diplomatic, artistic, and cultural exchange between the British and Japanese royal and imperial families.

Style & Society: Dressing the Georgians (runs from April 21, 2023)

Explore how the Georgians ushered in many of the cultural trends we know today, including the first stylists and influencers, the birth of a specialized fashion press, and the development of shopping as a leisure activity.

An elegant display of Japanese items of history and culture, accompanied by audioguide. I did not know what topic of display would it be, when I booked a ticket. I have no particular interest in Japanese culture, yet it was an enjoyable .experience. I will sent photos to a couple of friends who are really interested, too.

It was a nice gallery. I enjoyed the audio guide that you can listen to while viewing the gallery. It took a bit of time to figure out the pacing but once I did, it worked out. Print your tickets ahead of time to save time. It does not matter to have a mobile ticket.

Excellent exhibition on Leonardo da vinci

We changed the e-voucher for the paper ticket. There is never such a queue. For about six months the exhibition on Leonardo is seen which is unique in that approximately 200 drawings among the 600 owned by the royal house are shown to the public. But on the site it is not well explained that only Leonardo would have been seen and nothing else
