Full description

Enjoy a full-day tour of 2 of the West Country of England’s most famous attractions on a coach trip from London to the standing stone circle of Stonehenge and the Roman and Georgian city of Bath. Following your transfer from central London, start by exploring the mysteries of Stonehenge, the world’s most famous prehistoric monument.

Dating back some 5,000 years, the stone circle is located on Salisbury Plain, and has been home to pagan religions and spiritual worship for centuries. Try to unlock some of its secrets at the new Visitor Center. Then, continue to Bath in time for lunch at leisure. There’s an incredible selection of restaurants in the city, including traditional pubs for a classic pub lunch, quaint tea houses, and cool sandwich shops for a quick snack. Enjoy ample free time to wander the delightful crescents and terraces of the city to see fine examples of Georgian architecture.

If you prefer, visit the Roman Baths, built around 2,000 years ago (entrance ticket at your own expense). Marvel at the grand Bath Abbey, or go to the romantic Pulteney Bridge across the River Avon. Learn why Bath was so loved by Jane Austen at the Jane Austen Centre, and visit the elegant 18th-century Assembly Rooms. There will be plenty of time to shop, or to enjoy afternoon tea in the Pump Rooms, where the quintessential English experience is accompanied by live classical music.

Really great day tour, our guide Clive was incredibly fun and knowledgeable and our driver Tony was superb. They used local roads to avoid highway traffic on the way to Stonehenge which was nice because then we learned a little history about the surrounding area, too. Very easy to find the meeting point, and clearly communicated pick up times. We didn’t book the tour that included tickets to the Roman Baths but we lucked out being able to buy some tickets on the way there from Stonehenge. Some of the tourist shops also had guides for Bridgerton walking tours which was filmed there.

The day felt tight— I’d have liked another hour in both Stonehenge and Bath— but given the driving time to and from London, it was enough. Our kids (ages 11 and 9) were enthralled by the Roman Bath and by Stonehenge. The guide (John) was great; he gave lots of color commentary on the way in and out of London and Bath, in particular. Be sure to select the option that includes the Roman bath tour— we somehow didn’t but we’re able to book it online from the bus, and it’s really not to be missed.

The trip was great! No WiFi on the bus but it was a nice drive. Tour guide was VERY knowledgeable. No way to charge your phone either so bring a portable charger. Time in Bath could've been longer but there are only so many hours in the day, nothing could be done about that. Stonehenge was awesome and the time given there was perfect, not too long and not too short. Overall great experience!
