Full description

Visit the ancient standing stones of Stonehenge and picturesque Bath on this day trip from London. Enjoy transportation by air-conditioned coach and a multi-lingual audio guide to the prehistoric monument.

The most famous prehistoric monument in the world, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Stonehenge stands alone on the vastness of the Salisbury Plain. Its origins date back nearly 5,000 years and its purpose has continued to be a subject of public debate. Questions such as what this vast collection of stones was intended for and whether it was an observatory of the moon, a temple to the sun, or an elaborate cemetery have arisen over the decades. On this full-day tour by air-conditioned coach, you’ll have a chance to explore the site and do your best to unlock the secrets as you marvel at this remarkable and mysterious feat of ancient engineering and design. Next, you’ll head to Bath, arriving in time for lunch (not included in the tour price). With fabulous restaurants, teahouses, sandwich and coffee shops, and classic British pubs, you’ll have plenty of choices for a place to eat! Bath is a beautiful Georgian city with delightful crescents and terraces and stunning architecture. Following a scenic drive into the heart of the city, there will be plenty of time to explore the city at your leisure. Visit the Roman Baths that were built nearly 2,000 years ago. The magnificent Roman public bath complex and Roman temple were constructed over Britain's only natural hot water spring.

At this World Heritage Site, you can walk around the steaming pool on the Roman paving stones and admire the ancient Roman statues and architecture. See Bath Abbey and the much-photographed Pulteney Bridge, modeled on the famous Ponte Vecchio Bridge in Florence. In addition, you might like to see the Jane Austen Centre, and the elegant Assembly Rooms built in 1771. Shop, explore, and take afternoon tea in the Pump Rooms while listening to live classical music.

John was a fantastic guide and was very knowledgeable. The bus was comfortable and we had ample time at both Stonehenge and Bath. If you have the option, definitely sit on the right side of the bus, as most of the things John was pointing out were on the right side. We sat on the left, making our view of the things John was talking about a bit difficult.

It was a great and educational experience thanks to the wonderful stories and facts shared by our guide Zozo and the superb and safe travel provided by our driver, Ricardo. They have amazing sense of humor too.❤ Already thinking of going back with more of my friends to share the experience too

We had a great time on our tour. Arri, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and told us lots of interesting facts, keeping us entertained. The AC on the coach did not work very well in the morning and the toilet didn't work either, so it was a bit uncomfortable at times. I feel another 30 minutes at Stonehenge would have been perfect, but Bath needs at least a few more hours than what we got. I would recommend staying in Bath for a night, if possible. The drive back to London was long and the whole excursion was nearly a full 12 hours, so I don't recommend planning anything that night. Overall, though, we enjoyed ourselves and felt we had a great experience.
