Tower of London is absolutely not to be missed if you're spending time in London. We spent about 3 hours there starting around 9:30am. The tickets are timed, but it was not crowded at all in early January for us and we arrived and scanned in early. Don't miss the tour with a Beefeater ... they start each half hour from the entrance. Everything about the Tower ... the buildings, the grounds, the exhibits ... so well maintained and rich with history. As an American I always feel a great kinship with England and the UK broadly and I'm so impressed with the attention to detail and care with which history and artifacts here are maintained. The Tower is accessible and the compliment of Beefeaters and guards diverse, but there is nothing woke there thank heaven. History is presented factually, with humor where it helps and with solemnity where it's required. Booking a ticket via Get Your Guide was a breeze. Simple app on the phone. Very easy to book and, in my case, to cancel and rebook!!

Wonderful day out activity. Especially interesting for those who love history, but good for all. So many things to see and do. We were especially pleased that we booked to go in January when it is so much quieter at the Tower, and so no queues to any attraction and we could look around at our leisure. It was also great to chat to the Yoeman warders, both for their knowledge and to get to know them as people - having seen them on the TV programmes that have aired.

I would definitely say the the Tower of London should be on your list of top places to visit when in London. I would also suggest giving yourself a few hours more than 3 to fully enjoy the exhibits. There is a really nice cafe that has lots of food options to take a break and then continue on with the tour. I loved that their were extremely knowledgeable guides to answer questions and give further information and stories behind the exhibits. One of my favorite guides while visiting was a young man named Jefferey. He was extremely passionate while talking about the exhibit with the kings amour. He had stories and information to tell about most of the pieces.
