Full description

Take in the zoo's biggest experience, Land of the Lions, to get closer than ever before to the mighty Asiatic lions – of which only 400 remain in the wild. Explore walkways covering the 2,500 Indian-themed exhibit.

Exchange your voucher for a ticket at the pre-paid ticket desk and head into the zoo. Come face-to-face with one of nature's most awesome predators in Tiger Territory, learn about the natural behaviors of Sumatran tigers, and discover the conservation issues these creatures face in the wild.

Then, discover the new features added in 2021. Head to Tiny Giants, a celebration of all things small but mighty and the sometimes strange but always wonderful world of invertebrates. Enjoy the unmissable, brand new coral reef tank and watch schools of fish, including clownfish and blue tangs.

Next, visit Giants of the Galápagos, which opened in October 2021. Soak in the Galápagos climate and discover three Galápagos giant tortoises who can live for over a century. Imagine how the world might change in their lifetime and learn how we can protect them – and our planet – for years to come.

Head down to the beach to watch the colony of Humboldt penguins dive, swim, frolic, and feed in England's largest penguin pool, complete with underwater viewing windows. Next, step Into Africa to observe the elegance and grace of the giraffes before moving on to the magnificent residents of Gorilla Kingdom.

I think this zoo has very rich environments for most of its animals, although as always in zoos, I wish there were more space for them. But I got a sense that the animals are well cared for and healthy. From a spectator perspective - there's a huge variety, from reptiles and penguins to big cats and giraffes - I could have spent the whole day there (wish I had). And the viewing areas are well thought out - even when the animals were resting, we could see them, without encroaching on their space or disturbing them.

Booking was easy and admission straight forward once we got to zoo. No elephants at London zoo, they are now at whipsanade zoo. £4. For a ice cream cone!!!!! On the whole a lovely day with a 4 year old. They don’t give out maps for the zoo, you are advised to take a photo of the zoo map when you go in- that’s a shame, as children and adults I think , like to interact with a map?
