Situated on Salisbury Plain in the Wiltshire countryside, the cluster of 40-ton rocks were constructed more than 5,000 years ago. Although the function of Stonehenge is still a matter of fierce debate, what is known about the UNESCO World Heritage Site is that it has been a site of pagan worship for centuries. Make up your own mind as you uncover the history behind the extraordinary monument.
A new world-class visitor center is now a short shuttle bus ride away from the stone circle site and combines cutting edge audiovisuals with exhibitions of ancient objects.

Review summary
The transportation was easy enough to find. Everyone knows where it’s at so if you’re not able to find it, just ask. There is a bathroom in the bus. Don’t pay at the local store to use theirs, it’s dirty and they’re rude. Also, no hot drinks are allowed on the bus so make sure you finish your coffee prior to boarding. Also, no ice cream. The ride there was nice and there’s a lot of beautiful countryside to see. The driver was nice but it was insanely hot on the bus on the way there. To be fair, no one spoke up but it was soo hot it made me sick. Once there, you have time to take photos and walk to area as well as eat. We got there and it rained for a short time, then it was gorgeous. I got some really amazing photos. The ride back was a lot better and better temp control. Over all, a good experience.

Definitely worth it!
We loved our Stonehenge tour. The only issue was that upon arrival, we were met with an extremely long line waiting for the shuttle to the actual site. We decided to walk, and not only was the countryside scenery beautiful, but we got to the site much faster than if we had waited for the shuttle. We were able to listen to the entire audio guide. My advice would be to walk, if walking is not an issue. Fantastic experience.
