Overall pretty good

It was a clear evening and we saw plenty of the most fabulous sites in London. Unfortunately Big Ben is currently wrapped up for renovations but everything else looked good. The boat was comfortable and we had good seating next to the very large windows. The staff were courteous, polite and attentive. We chose the middle charge including Prosecco and half a glass of wine each. The food was ok, not brilliant but we didn’t go for the food but for the atmosphere and views which were very good. Cheese was shared between two for some strange reason and we didn’t get our coffee. The pianist and sax played all evening but it was jazz which isn’t to my taste. The waiting area pre boarding was very comfortable.

Dinnet cruise on the thames

The dinner cruise which was anything but luxury. To start with the starter was cold pea soup and this was very disappointing as this was not choux cheese pastry, then the tarte was nice but tiny, after this came beetroot gnocchi in a watery soup and this seemed very strange as it was not thickened. Then a saving grace a choco.te anniversary cake thank you. This was followed by a delicious white chocolate mousse and strawberry compote and then cheese and grapes. So food was a thing but luxury and the dinner cruise was relaxing with music which seemed to be on constant repeat strange how the trumpet and pia o played the same music over and over agai . Then no idea of where the din er cruise was passing g by in London some sights of interest would have been nice. So all in all not the best din er cruise and not the worst I think we will stick to the afternoon tea in future at least you are getting what it says on the tin.

Scenic river cruise with good eating.

The boat ride was elegant, comfy and timely, and the scenery was wonderful with a lit riverside London. During the cruise we witnessed a beautiful sunset and a lot of nice architecture. Inside the boat there was a top class acoustic live concert to set the mood. The duo played a diverse setlist containing a few popular hit covers and a lot of quiet, slow background songs. Of course, the main event was the five course dinner. Unfortunately that is the only place where my wife and I were not completely satisfied. All five courses were elegantly and beautifully presented. All the vegetables were nicely cooked and spiced as well, but it saddened me that the main courses containing chicken (for me) and codfish (for my wife) were both dry and a bit chewy. The desserts were nice enough, but failed to impress beyond that. To top it off, their way to address my wife's lactose intolerance was to simply leave out the parts containing lactose, not to provide an alternative.
