Full description

Explore the beautiful cathedral city of Canterbury, the White Cliffs of Dover, and Dover Castle on a day tour from London. Soak in the views of the countryside of Britain while learning about the history from your guide.

Make your first stop at the historic cathedral city of Canterbury. There’s plenty to see in Canterbury, including the Cathedral, St. Martin’s Church, and St. Augustine’s Abbey.

Learn about the pilgrims who have made their way to Canterbury Cathedral since the Middle Ages, and it remains popular today with visitors from around the world. Travel on to the coast to see the White Cliffs of Dover, one of the country’s most spectacular natural features. An icon of Britain, the White Cliffs have been a sign of hope and freedom for centuries.

Take a walk along the clifftops and look out over the busy English Channel. On a clear day, you will be able to see across France. Take a short drive up the road from the White Cliffs of Dover to Dover Castle, one of the largest castles in the country, strategically placed at the shortest crossing point to continental Europe. See the castle that has played a prominent role in Britain’s history and dates back to the Iron Age. A Roman lighthouse and Anglo-Saxon church still stand within the grounds. Admission to the castle is included in the tour and you’ll also have some free time to explore the grounds.

The trip was Ok. The guide never stopped talking, which was enjoyable at the beginning but was very annoying by the end. The time allotted for the White Cliffs was a joke. We had 45 minutes, of which it was a 20 minute walk from the car park to the Cliffs and 20 minutes back, leaving 5 minutes to visit the Cliffs. They could cut out Canterbury Cathedral and give more time for the Cliffs.

Good tour, with mostly enough time at the venues. If you are really into WWII history, see the WWII tunnels, as this tour takes about 45 minutes, and there is always a queue, if not go to the medieval tunnels and spend more time in the rest of the castle. Cliffs were interesting, but weather was too wet to really see anything more than the closest scenery. Canterbury was fabulous, time to look at the cathedral then wander the main area of the town before leaving. A tip would be to take some food/water, as queues for food take up a lot of time, which you could better spend sightseeing. We were dropped off at a railway station, miles from our pickup point, which is a little confronting when you are a tourist with little or no knowledge of the train system

Head to Dover castle to explore on your own, then white cliffs for quick stop, then to Kent to see Canterbury cathedral and left on own to explore surrounding area. At Dover castle go straight to the tunnels because there’s always a wait to get in. Also ate at Naafi right near the tunnels had great roast beef
