Full description
Firstly, your local London guide takes you to the exciting Borough Market to soak up the atmosphere and eat some English fudges/chocolate. This eating paradise was not even on the tourist foodie radar a few years ago. Still around the market, you will try award winning Cumberland sausages, followed by the best fresh fish and chips in town. Note the difference between "chips" and "French fries!" There is so much to see in the market that your guide will give you 10-20 minutes to look around yourselves, giving you a chance to buy gifts or eat any samples. Your personal guide will explain the history of the market and the surrounding areas including Sir Francis Drake’s Golden Hind, the Shard and Southwark Cathedral. Your tour will continue to a historic pub where you can try the best of British cheeses, served with grapes, fig cakes and chutneys, washed down with real London beers, ales or delicious ciders (or non-alcoholic options). You will also see the world-famous London Bridge and Tower Bridge on the River Thames as well as the Battleship HMS Belfast. Finally, the tour ends with classic desserts, such as cheesecakes, chocolate brownies or sticky toffee puddings, all washed down with a pot of refreshing tea. Oh, and of course there’s a delicious secret dish too!

This was one of the best things I did during my entire stay in London. Not only was Billie a fantastic guide (knowledgeable, friendly, great presence and attentiveness), but also the food was great, the marketplace was a treat in and of itself. We got to check out several of my British Bucket List food items (fish and chips, sausage roll, sticky toffee pudding, tea), as well as many items I didn’t think of and totally appreciated. I loved that there was history and context woven throughout, a few notable locations were pointed out for later exploration, and we even got to go to an old school pub that definitely had longstanding British charm. The portions were tasting portions, so you got enough but didn’t feel overly full. Altogether, between the quality of the food, information, and experience, this is well done and well worth the price of admission.

The food was abundant so go hungry! Unless you have an extra healthy appetite then just go a bit peckish. The assortment and locations were spread throughout the borough with the perfect amount of Time to explore. Our guide, Joseph, was full of fun, facts, and character. We thoroughly enjoyed our first outing in London with this activity.

Our guide was Dan, and he was really awesome! He made the tour so enjoyable, and included everyone in the activities. The food he had arranged was sooo good, and we loved it all. He let us have time to go off by ourselves for a bit so we could further explore the Borough Market. I would absolutely take this tour if I was coming to London - and ask for Dan to be your guide!
