Full description
Discover the dark side of London on this combined 3-hour coach and walking tour and learn about some of the capital’s most notorious murder cases. Starting from the Theatre Drury Lane, you will learn why it is considered London’s most haunted theater. Drive past site of numerous public hangings at the Old Bailey, and continue past the former home of Sweeny Todd, the demon barber of Fleet Street. Hear how his accomplice, Mrs Lovatt, was said to have baked pies from the flesh of his victims, before selling them to unsuspecting customers. As the shadows get long, head to London's East End, a hotbed of crime and vice in the 19th-Century. Learn how, during the autumn of 1888, terror struck when Jack the Ripper came out of the fog and dimly lit alleys, to stalk and butcher his 5 victims. Walk along his death trail, inspecting the murder sites, deciphering the evidence, and discussing the suspects in the case that has never been solved. Among the highlights is a visit to the 10 Bells Pub, where many of Jack the Ripper's victims were said to have drunk.

Very good tour of London

We had John as our guide and were completely happy with the tour! During the bus tour through London, he told us a few facts about the history of London. In Whitechapel we then looked at the individual crime scenes. All in all, this tour was really good! John also made sure that we understood everything, we were the only ones who didn't speak English as a mother tongue. Can only be recommended!

Best tour ever!

Our guide, John, was eager to bring us closer to the world of Victorian London and the East End, where Jack the Ripper was up to mischief. After a short bus ride, where you could already hear a lot about 'old' London, we went through Whitechapel and explored the places where the victims of the ripper were found. The little streets and their houses are mostly from this time and with the information from John it was easy to move back there. In between there was a portion of fish 'n chips for everyone from a real English fish' n chips restaurant. No comparison to what you get in pubs. It was great! I can recommend this tour without exception!

Very entertaining and informative.

It was very entertaining and informative. Along with lots of facts and stories about Jack the Ripper and Sweeny Todd our tour guide John included a lot of interesting information about London both past and present. I wouldn't recommend this to people who don't speak English, but I do highly recommend this tour for those who do.
