It was great in terms of bus, guide and info we were given. I was a bit disappointed we could not take any photos inside the castle. Their rules, not yours. And there was not actually a lot to see inside. I was done in less than an hour. So a bit of a let down after so much hype and expectation. The tea/snack offering was poor and expensive. Too much like fast food with little customer service. I asked if my scone could be heated a little and was told no, they don’t do that. For the price I paid, that was poor service. But it was a beautiful sunny day and I took lots of photos in the grounds. Our guide was very good so he helped make it worthwhile. Glad I went as it had been on my bucket list for a long time. But it was expensive and slightly disappointing. Perhaps because I was expecting more. Would I recommend to others? Yes but with some reservations.

All in all it was a day spent very well. If you are a Downton Abbey fan, you cannot complain aa you will have yourself running through scenes from the drama/ movie as you go through the village and the castle. Learnt a lot of history from the guide, while on the coach, safe driving. Enjoyed!
