The true meaning of this ancient, awe-inspiring creation has been lost in the mists of time. Was Stonehenge a temple for sun worship, a healing centre, a burial site, or perhaps a huge calendar? How did ancient man manage to carry the mighty stones from so far away and then, using only the most primitive of tools, build this amazing structure? Surrounded by mystery, Stonehenge never fails to impress.
Salisbury and the Magna Carta
Soaring into the skyline, the spire of Salisbury Cathedral stands at a whopping 123 meters, or 404 feet! Erected 800 years ago, the revolutionary spire is considered one of the leading examples of Early English architecture. Ancient meets modern at the cathedral's newest addition: a beautifully sculpted font designed by William Pye. Salisbury Cathedral is also home to the world's oldest working clock and the best-preserved original copy of the Magna Carta – there are only 4 such copies in existence. Marvel at this astonishing medieval document in the Chapter House, which features a slender central pillar and stunning medieval frieze.
Free Lunch Pack
To ensure you make the most of each attraction and don’t waste valuable exploring time, the tour includes a lunch pack, completely free of charge! Save time, money and dodge the inconvenience of finding somewhere to eat.
Proudly standing on the slopes of the River Avon, beautiful Bath was the first city in England to be designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Gorgeous 15th-century Bath Abbey, the stunning Georgian architecture, and romantic Pulteney Bridge, modeled on Florence's Ponte Vecchio, are all sights that will linger in your memory.
Roman Baths and Pump Rooms
No tour of Bath would be complete without a visit to the famous Roman Baths that gave the city its name. This beautifully preserved bathing complex still circulates water from Britain's only hot spring. As dusk falls, marvel at the dazzling torch–lighting ceremony (not applicable during the summer months), and sip Bath's healing waters in the Pump Room, a stunning neoclassical salon where hot spa waters are drawn for drinking.
