Join the nobility of Milan on a 3-hour Segway tour of the Brianza Hills. The excursion takes you through the beautiful gardens of the Villa Reale, the Napoleonic walled gardens of Monza Park and more.
What to Expect
This 3-hour Segway tour of the Brianza Hills combines a very modern mode of transport with the historic sights of Lombardy just outside Milan.
To keep up with the nobles of the city, the son of Maria Teresa of Austria wanted a summer residence in the Brianza hills. The "Villa di Delizie" or “Pleasure Palace,” conceived for the physical and spiritual pleasures of the nobles, was built on the banks of the Lambro River with beautiful landscaped English gardens.
The itinerary gives you a historic and artistic analysis of the villa as you nip through the gardens, before moving on to Cascina San Fedele, the 17th-Century Villa Mirabellino, built for the noble Durini family, and the enclosed Monza Park, the 4th largest walled park in Europe.
You will also discover new sculptural works by Giuliano Mauri and Giancarlo Negri, tour the ancient Franciscan Cloister of Santa Maria delle Grazie and visit the Frette bleachworks, a significant example of industrial archaeology.
You will have the services of an experienced and knowledgeable guide throughout, who will show you how to operate the easy-to-drive Segways and teach you a wealth of fascinating facts as you explore.
