Day 1: Pre Rub, Banteay Srei, Neak Pan, Preah Khan, Sunset at Bakheng mountain This morning head to Re Rub temple Hindu temple built as the state temple of Khmer king Rajendravarman and dedicated in 961 or early 962. It is a temple mountain of combined brick, laterite and sandstone construction. Visit the well-preserved Banteay Srei. The detailed reliefs on this smaller sandstone structure are regarded as the finest, most skillfully crafted in Cambodia. Move to Neak Pean, an artificial island with a Buddhist temple on a circular island in Jayatataka Baray. continue your afternoon to Preah Khan temple, a ruined but highly atmospheric mélange of tree roots and crumbling stone structures. We end our discoveries of the temples of Angkor with clamp up for sunset at Bakheng temple. Day 2: Temples of Angkor with Sunrise Depart before dawn to see the sunrise outside Angkor Wat. Soak up the atmosphere from the edge of one of the ancient library pools. Then explore the interior of the great temple. Spend a thorough two hours discovering the corridors, central chambers, and upper terraces of this truly great temple. Mid the morning get breakfast at a local restaurant near the temple area and then after drive to Ta Prohm temple, which is one of the most atmospheric of all the temples in Angkor. Move to Ta Nei temple, this long but fulfilling day will leave you with lifetime memories of some of the most impressive monuments built by mankind. This is a late 12th-century stone temple in Angkor that was dedicated to the Buddha.  Day 3: Fishing Village of Tonle Sap Lake Begin your day with a pickup at your accommodation around 8:00 AM and journey through the countryside to the world’s second largest freshwater lake, Tonle Sap Lake, which swells to 12,000 kilometers squared. During the dry half of the year, the lake shrinks to 2,500 kilometers squared, draining into the Tonle Sap River. Take a boat trip to "Kampong Phluk", a collection of three small fishing villages in an atmospheric flooded forest setting. Enjoy your lunch at your own expense and have a short rest. Please note that in the dry season (March - July) due the water level the alernative of Tonle Sap lake will be Cambodia Phare Circus (Seat C).

Itinerary Day 1 At 08:00 am we go to visit the Kbal Spean, Kbal Spean commonly known as the valley of a 1000 Ligars, is set deep in the jungle to the north east of Angkor. 45 minutes steep jungle walk takes you to the riverbed where a hundreds of phalluses are carved in the rock. There is a lovely waterfall here which is best seen at the end of the rainy season. At the top of the falls are numerous carved animals. This site has only been opened up to tourism since 1998. Have lunch at the local restaurant. After lunch we continue to visit the Bantaey Srey temple, it is a small and unique temple with the finest carving of all the Angkor temples. On the way back we will pass by some local villages where we may get down for a brief stop at a little village producing sugar from sugar palm trees. Back to the hotel finish tour. Itinerary Day 2 Visit the pagoda or local market in the Kompong Phluk area, is 30 kilometers south-east of Siem Reap. Visit the pagoda or local market first, then go by motorized boat on a tour of the stilted buildings. After lunch we go to visit the temples in the Roluos. The Rolous Group Temples: Preah Ko, Bakong and Lolei. The temples are built from the early of Angkor Period (802-1431). Preah Ko temple was built by king Indravarman I in 879. Bakong was built in 881. And Lolei was built by king Yasovarman I in 893. Back to hotel finish tour.

Three days is a lot so you need to be committed to getting as much as you can out of your trip to Siem Reap. And we were, and we did! Ruom our guide was very very knowledgeable and filled our heads with all sorts of facts and figures which really brought the sites we visited to life. Transport and driver were excellent. We got to tick off a bucket list adventure in the perfect way!
