Full description
Travel from Inverness to Skye on a day tour exploring the countryside and seeing the main sights. Your day starts with a bit of monster spotting as you drive along the shore of Loch Ness. Stop at the little village of Invermoriston, where you can take in the views and see a delightful ruined bridge. Your journey winds through Glen Moriston and Glen Shiel and on past the 5 Sisters, a stunning range of mountains that dominates the surrounding landscape. Continue to Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most picturesque castles, perched on its own island at the head of Loch Duich. Next cross over the bridge to Skye and head for Broadford. Your tour of this magical island takes in the stunningly beautiful road through Glen Suardal. You’ll also see the iconic Red Cuillin Hills and, as you reach the little village of Torrin, you’ll be able to enjoy views of Bla Bhein (Blanven). The road then drops to hug the banks of Loch Slapin. Continue with a steep climb over Strathaird where you'll have an extended stop. Your journey then heads back to the mainland past the little island of Eilean Ban. Stop off at Achnasheen and then drive home via the scenic Black Isle.

The Highlands are a beautiful area. The trip ran like a well oiled machine, everything was on time and we were never made to wait. I would have liked to have had more time at the outdoor area by the Enchanted River than spending so much time in the city of Portree, but I'm just not a shopper. The Eileen Donan Castle was wonderful! Our guide, Richard, was entertaining and informative, just perfect.

It was a good trip with good stops fyring the long drive and a driver, who was very informative and with a good humour. We also had a very good impression of the Highlands along Loch Ness. The Eilean Donan castle was great. When I do not give the highest mark, it is because we did not have so much time Portree( 1,5 hour) . My daughter and I were lucky, as we had sandwiches with us and sat in the sun in the harbour, but would have been nice to have had an hour to walk around after. ( 2 hours altogether ).

Amazing experience worth every single penny. The tour started and finished on time (9:15 am -nice not having to wake up very early-7:15 pm) and checked all the expected boxes. Guide was really professional and managed in an excellent way road and traffic issues and timetables. I did never get bored in those 10 hours, even if you spend most of time on the bus The Highlands and Sky Island is so spectacullar that time flies just looking from the windows. In love with the place and the experience.
