From Ljubljana: Lake Bled and Bohinj Trip with Vintgar Gorge

1. From Ljubljana: Lake Bled and Bohinj Trip with Vintgar Gorge

Enjoy Bled, or the “Image of Paradise,” which has been attracting visitors with its breathtaking beauty for centuries. The calm and inviting waters of its lake spurred the tradition of making the typical ‘pletna’ boats back in the 12th century.  Optionally you can board one of these wooden beauties to reach the island, with its romantic church and mysterious wishing bell. Sightseeing in Bled continues with a visit to the impressive castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. Guides will roll back time in its museum, and enjoy the unforgettable view of the surroundings. Surrounded by alluring summits, the Bohinj Valley charms visitors with its inspiring scenery, crystal lake waters and the harmonious coexistence of man and nature. The picturesque lakeside boasts the frescoes of the Church of St. John the Baptist. You will have time to discover the legend of Zlatorog (Goldhorn), enjoy a stunning view over Mount Triglav and try the hearty local cuisine.  To experience a bit of trekking, you'll end the day with an enjoyable 20-minute hike to the beautiful Savica Waterfall, thundering from a high rocky cliff, and enjoy a rewarding view of the Lake.

Highlight of our Slovenian trip! Our guide, Vasja made the day so enjoyable with his knowledge, sense of humour and willingness to make our experience enjoyable and memorable. The 10 hour tour flew by and we would have loved for it to have continued. If you only have a day to explore Slovenia outside of Ljubljiana then this tour is for you!

Ziga did an amazing job showing us around. He is very knowledgeable about the area and the culture. The tour was perfectly timed and choreographed. From vintgar gorge, to lake Bled to lake Bohinj and local food, pastry and schnapps. I had a wonderful time and so did the rest of the group. Hvala Lepa!!

Amazing. Do it. All three sites - The Vintgar gorge was beautiful, Lake Bohinj was great….both these were so good, that I was thinking that Lake Bled couldn’t live up to its reputation…but then it did. Fantastic. Make sure you take a boat out to the island…I hadn’t planned to, but so glad I did.

Really great tour with breathtaking views. Our tour guide was really nice & knowledgable. Tip: wear comfortable closed shoes because there is quite some walking involved.

Excellent guide/driver. Beautiful scenery. Thoroughly enjoyed
