Full description
Lake Bled is often mentioned as the pearl of the Slovenian Alpine region due to its emerald-green waters, picture-perfect postcard church on the island, medieval castle on the rocky cliff, and some of the highest peaks of the Slovenian Alps as the background. Take a short walk along the lakeshore as the beauty of the surrounding mountains reflects off the lake surface. No matter the season, you'll enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the lake and the fresh mountain air.  Perched atop a steep cliff more than 100 meters above the lake, Bled Castle is the iconic image of a medieval fortress, with towers, ramparts, moats and a terrace offering magnificent views. The castle houses a unique treasure - a reconstruction of Gutenberg's wooden printing press, on which the master printer will demonstrate old printing techniques using hand-made paper. Take the Pletna boat, a traditional boat known only to this region, to the tiny tear-shaped island on the lake. Upon returning from the island, stop at the local patisserie and taste Bled’s famous cream cake, kremšnita. In the last 60 years they have sold as many as 12 million of these cakes - they are definitely a can't-miss and a perfect way to top off your day.

Our guide, with a clear and pleasant voice and excellent English skills, picked us up from our hotels and shared fascinating details about Slovenia, Ljubljana, and Lake Bled during the drive. The small group size of just seven people, including the guide, was a huge advantage, allowing us to explore the exhibits at our own pace or with the guide's expert commentary. The tour itself was well-planned, and after we finished, our guide took us to a fantastic local restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious meal and shared our photos and impressions. The guide even made sure to drop us all back at our hotels, which was greatly appreciated. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and one that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Slovenia :)

Our singing guide Vacos was amazing ! He was charming and humorous and that injected much fun in our small group travel which included a tour of lake bled and the castle. He also brought us to try the heavenly bled custard cake and after, lunch at a local bar restaurant that served me a really nice warm chicken stew which I couldn’t find anywhere else back in Lljublana. Vacos sings well and was an excellent guide . I would recommend this tour to lake bled and if you do get Vacos, that’s a plus!!

Lake Bled with its little island is beautiful - the visit of Bled castle is a waste of money though except somebody wants to enjoy the view for a while. Inside there is nothing worth to see, the entire interior is modernly renovated. At least the guide was very nice and accommodating.
