What people are saying about Ljubljana
Roundabout Travel offers the only tour of Lake Bred that I could find that also included Postojna Cave, and Predjama Castle. All three sites are breathtakingly beautiful. Jan, our Guide, was very informative and helpful. He changed the order of activities so that we could visit the island in Lake Bleed before other tour groups arrived. When I asked about Tito's former summer home, he offered to show it to me while the other 7 members of tour went to lunch. When he asked if anyone else wanted to go see those site, all of them accepted even though it meant shortening their lunch break, as well as his rest time. When we returned to Ljubljana, he took a family to the train station to help them fix a problem with their tickets even though it was a long day, he was working overtime, and he had nothing to do with the problem. It was a great tour and Jan was a wonderful guide. On the way home, he went with
Excellent Scenic Beauty. Bohinj, Bled, Vintgae Gorge. Would recommend this trip to everyone. Without this trip your Slovenia visit is incomplete. Additionally our Private Tour was good, specifically due to "Barbara L" Our Tour Guide. Always smiling, enthusiastic and a good Story Teller. Hard working ; Passionate about her job, she always ensured that Guests are taken care of providing us with Mineral Water, Umbrella's (Even though we were lucky not to have rains, although it was coudy). For her age and experience 'Barbara L" was excellent. Barbara L - Keep up your enthusiastic spirit and good work. I am certain that you will go places.
Our guide, Nena was amazing and was so knowledgeable of the places we visited and made recommendations as required. Nena was very safe and a good driver too. She made every effort to accommodate the groups interest and we did not miss out on anything even when we were running a little behind schedule. I would like to commend Nena for doing an outstanding job and so glad we had her as our tour guide. For anyone new to Lubljana this is THE tour to do and worth it as you get to see so much in one day. It's only a small group which makes it easier to do things without having to wait around for people.
This trip was one of the best I’ve ever done. The train ride into the cave is great fun and gives you a taste of the spectacular stalagmites and stalactites in the rest of the cave. The 1.6km of walkways are mainly smooth concrete which makes walking easy, although some people found them rather steep in places. The cave is beautifully lit, enhancing the natural wonders and facilitating photography. Predjama Castle is a wonder of building construction and extremely interesting. I highly recommend this trip.
I would recommend this tour if you have a day to spare while visiting Zagreb. Plan on a full 8am-8pm day for this activity. You get enough time to get a taste for these two sites. It made want to stay longer to visit more places around Slovenia. Our guide gave us some historical context during the ride there. He was very friendly and patient.
