Never gave Liverpool a second thought until I married a diehard Liverpool fan. I support Sunderland afc(for my sinns haha).Anyway, due to being diagnosed with secondary breast cancer with a rubbish prognosis I wanted to visit certain places with hubby and 2 oldest sons.i.e Anfield. I must say it was absolutely fantastic - better than Goodison Park! Lol! Better than Stamford Bridge.I was there a couple of weeks before. Now it's became a thing to visit as many premier league stadiums before i get too poorly.Anfield by far was something else. The staff were really friendly, security on the car park was fab,had a bit banter with him.We were worried about where to park and he was like no problem just come in.I love everything about Liverpool, the fans, the player's etc.So much passion.Watching the projector screen at the new stand and then walking out to see the stadium, from that height aswell was just stunning.

I'm a Chelsea but loved the whole experience. Our guide Gordon was very passionate and knowledgeable. Considering his grandad played for the Reds over 100 years ago, that's not surprising. I loved being photographed beside the Shankly statue. Gordon was right, Shanks wasn't the most successful, far from it, but he was the most significant. Shanks changed the who ethos of the club and elevated it to elite status.

Feel that I would like to have known the clubs history b4 1965 although it was touched on but went into no great depth. I was of the opinion that the focus was on the clubs European History and not the whole history of the club. There was not a opportunity to visit the trophy room as is the norm for any other stadium tour I have been on. Although I enjoyed the tour I feel it could have been so much more. Lenny our guide was every knowledgable about Liverpool’s history and the club in general but he said that Joe Fagan won the Treble b4 Sir Alex Ferguson but Celtic’s Jock Stein won The League Championship, Scottish Cup, Scottish League Cup, Glasgow Cup(which was a daughter-in-law after trophy at this time) and of course The European Cup which is 5 Trophies in on season which again was a first B4 Joe Fagan and would have won the World Club Championship if it was not for bias refereeing. Just pointing that out for future.
