Cycle the banks of the Tagus River, and discover the UNESCO World Heritage monuments of Belém on a 3-hour electric bike tour of Lisbon. Meet your guide at a central meeting point for a short briefing on how the bikes work. Then, glide off towards the renovated Ribeira Market, where you will find an abundance of traditional stalls selling fish, fruit, vegetables, and flowers. Admire the depictions of Portugal’s “Age of Discoveries,” before looking at the 16th-century fortifications of the Torre Belém, part of a defensive system that protected Lisbon from pirates. Enjoy a quite coffee break away from the tourist traps, before cycling to the 16th-century Monastery of Saint Jerome, one of the finest example of Manueline style architecture in the city. There will be the chance to taste one of the famous Belém custard tartlets in the magnificent gardens, before it’s time to cycle back to the meeting point.
