See the fairytale palaces and gardens of Sintra Natural Park, and marvel at the windswept beaches of the Estoril Coast on a classic, 9-hour private tour. Discover the former summer retreat of the Portuguese royals, and taste a local pastry.
What to Expect
Follow in the footsteps of Portuguese royalty and legions of writers and artists on a full-day tour of Sintra, Cascais and the Estoril Coast from Lisbon.
Following a pick-up from your accommodation in the city center, transfer to Sintra’s mountain range. On arrival, enjoy some free time to visit Pena Palace, one of Portugal’s “7 Wonders.” Marvel at the romantic, 19th-century design of the last royal residence of Portugal.
Continue to Sintra village to explore the historic center. Discover Portuguese handicraft and local pastries, such as queijadas and travesseiros de Sintra. Admire an official royal residence since the 13th century, with its simple but rich interior, ceramic tile panels, and decorative arts.
Enjoy some free time for lunch. Then head to the Atlantic Coast, stopping at Cabo da Roca at continental Europe’s westernmost point. Take in the magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean, before driving along the coast to the popular surf beach of Guincho.
End your day in the cosmopolitan village of Cascais, and take a pleasant walk along the bay and picturesque streets. Return to Lisbon along the coast, passing Estoril and the most crowded beaches of the region.
