Drive along the coastal avenue connecting the Estoril bay to Cascais. Stop in Cascais, a fishing village that historically became the refuge of aristocrats and artists. Head along the coast and take in the views of wild beaches and cliffs until you arrive at the westernmost point of Europe, Cabo da Roca. Here the landscape becomes a blend of sea and mountain views.  Travel through the mountain until you reach the historical center of Sintra, part of Unesco’s Cultural Heritage. Discover how this town was one of the first centers of European Romantic architecture, where the royal family lived and English aristocrats sought shelter during the French Invasions.  Learn about the unique heritage of the town which was built in harmony with the natural landscape. Stop at the enigmatic, mystical Quinta da Regaleira, the unusual Pena Palace and the magnificent Mozarabic National Palace with 1000 years of history.  Sample regional food at Refúgio da Roca.

Had a fabulous day with Nuno. We booked a private tour for the four of us and thoroughly enjoyed it. We're able to tailor the tour to suit our timings and managed to fit in coffee and a wander around the marina in Cascais, visit to Cabo da Roca, lunch in Sintra and a visit inside the Sintra National palace (no crowds!) and finally a walk around Peña Palace Gardens. Big thank you to Nuno who was friendly and knowledgeable. Dropped back to our hotel at 17.10. Van was new and very clean and comfortable.

Nuno was an excellent tour guide! He provided a lot of history and information, as well as what to eat and where to get it. He was also very helpful in getting us into Peña Castle. And we really enjoyed the end of the trip back in Lisbon where he drove us around the different areas. My favorite parts was the art murals he took us to see. Overall it was an excellent day!

We had a lovely day with Claudia as our guide visiting Cascais, Cabo de Roca, and Sintra! Claudia was very knowledgeable about each location and knew about the traffic situation in Cascais due to an Ironman triathlon event. We had an hour to walk around Cascais, then spent 30 minutes at Cabo de Roca where we had a brief view of the coastline as the fog was very thick. Finally she brought us to a Portuguese restaurant in Sintra for lunch, we had time to walk around old town Sintra before visiting Pena Palace. She catered to our requests and was very easy going and pleasant throughout the tour.
