Spend a day on a private tour of Lisbon, the oldest city in Western Europe, predating other European capitals such as London, Paris, and Rome by centuries. See its top monuments, customize the tour to your interests, and taste its famous custard pastry!
What to Expect
Your full-day private tour for a group of up to 8 participants begins with a pick-up at your Lisbon accommodation.
Start out at the Expo area that was built for the International World Exhibition in 1998. From there, the drive will take you to the old part of the city, to visit the Church of Saint António, the Cathedral of Lisbon, the Church of Saint Vicente de Fora, and the National Pantheon, and to take in the panoramas from the Portas do Sol and da Graça viewpoints.
Head to the main square, Terreiro do Paço, and then Cais do Sodré, and up another hill to the Chiado neighborhood, where you can visit the Church of Saint Roque, the Rato area, the Basilica of Estrela, and see the Parliament House and take in the views from Santa Catarina viewpoint.
Returning to the riverside, you'll continue to the Discoveries area of Belém, visiting the Monastery of Jerónimos, the Tower of Belém, and the monument to the Age of Discoveries, Padrão dos Descobrimentos. You’ll also have the opportunity to taste the traditional custard pastry, known as pastéis de Belém.
Your tour ends with a drive to the 18th-century aqueduct of Águas Livres, Park Eduardo VII, Marques de Pombal Square, Liberdade Avenue, and to the downtown area of Rossio.
Your guide will recommend some traditional restaurants for you to choose from for lunch. Note that the itinerary can be customized to your interests.
