Full description

Escape the hustle and bustle of Lisbon on a full-day tour of Sintra and Cascais. Discover the whimsical architecture of the town centers and Sintra Natural Park.

Following a pick-up from your hotel in Lisbon, transfer by air-conditioned, 8-seat vehicle to the extravagant Pena Palace, perched on a rock that overlooks the coastline of Lisbon. Marvel at is a mix of Moorish and Manueline motifs, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding woods.

Head to Cabo da Roca, continental Europe’s westernmost point, and get a souvenir certificate inscribed with the words, "Where the Land Ends and the Sea Begins," by Camões. Pass the stunning beaches of Cascais, including Praia do Guincho, the most scenic beach on the Lisbon coastline.

En route to Cascais, experience the mystery of the "Devil's Mouth” cave, created by the crashing of the waves on the rocky bluff.

Stop in the elegant resort town of Cascais, a once quiet fishing village that was discovered by the European nobility for its idyllic setting, and became a favorite destination for the international jet set. Stroll along the harbor, before transferring back to Lisbon.

Déborah, our guide listened to the whole group, which made all the visits easier and gave us good advice. We ate in a good restaurant for lunch (not included in the visit). Just remember to take a small vest, because the weather changes very quickly in Sintra. Small negative point is that the day is already not given and that you have to pay entry to the garden and / or the palace. Knowing that in summer the queue for the palace is enormous.

This is a nice tour but too much to see/do in the amount of time given. Our guide was knowledgeable, approachable and talkative but we were given not so much time at every location to actually be able to enjoy it fully, even during coffee breaks due to queues everywhere you felt like there was no time to do anything. Splitting the tours would be recommended.

we chose the 1 day excursion "Pena Palace - Sintra and Cascais" - because there was a guided visit of the Palace included. Only excursion that offers it. The success of this day is due to Paulo, the driver-guide. Paulo drives calmly and gently, he is very cultured and willingly shares his experience. He knew how to adapt the circuit according to the rainy weather in the morning. He advised us of a Portuguese restaurant in Sintra and even booked it with our agreement. And then he guided us in the Pena palace, retracing the whole history punctuated with anecdotes. Every moment of the day he worried about our well-being. I myself am a tour guide in France and I recognize in Paulo a quality professional. With a smile, he makes you discover a part of his country, juggling languages with ease (in the Spanish and French mini-bus), because Paulo masters these 2 languages perfectly. Thank you thank you for this day. Dominique and Alain
