Full description

Escape Lisbon and go on a full-day, guided journey to some of Portugal’s most popular locations stopping at the iconic Pena Palace in Sintra, the awe-inspiring cliffs of Cabo da Roca, and the ritzy seaside town of Cascais. Choose between the shared tour or private tour options.

Your journey from Lisbon starts at the famous city of Sintra, whose Romanticist architecture, historic estates and villas, and numerous royal palaces and castles have made it a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Enjoy the freedom of choice on whether you want an included entry ticket and tour of the colorful Pena Palace, or whether you prefer to gain some extra free time instead.

Arriving early at Sintra means greater chances of avoiding long lines if you choose to go with your guide on a comprehensive tour through its lavish interiors and lush gardens. Marvel at the palace’s fairy-tale-like appearance, beautiful facade and extravagant interior.

Next, head over to the center of Sintra and get 1.5-hour of free time to wander on your own. Get recommendations of the city’s must-see locations as well as the best restaurant options for delicious traditional Portuguese dining from your guide.

Continue to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, and take in the impressive views of the ocean crashing against the high rocky cliffs. If weather permitting, stop at Guincho beach, whose strong winds and high swells have made it a popular surfing destination.

Lastly, arrive in Cascais, an elegant seaside resort town on the Portuguese Riviera. Stroll through the lovely city center and make sure to check out Cascais’ luxury marina, its charming fishing port, and a restored fort that houses many local craftsmen.

After your free exploration time in Cascais, relax back on board your air-conditioned vehicle, and admire more breathtaking views of the Portuguese coast as you make your way back to Lisbon.

Guide Adrian was very friendly and helpful. Was quite an uphill walk from coach dropoff to enter interior of palace which I was not expecting. Adrian was very helpful on that climb. He was very informative during the tour of the interior, answering questions along the way. At each stop he would have suggestions of where to eat, from full meal to sweets or gelato. There was sufficient time at each stop to explore. Overall a good full day tour

Directions to pick up/drop off were easy! We called to make sure we were in the right location and the staff member on the phone was super kind. 100% recommend booking a trip like this- the driver and tour guide (Ruth!!) were amazing. They gave great recommendations for places on our stops & had us laughing all over Portugal. If you're debating on booking this trip do it! You won't regret it. Thank you Ruth and Dominic for a perfect day and wonderful views.

Was a chilled out and relaxed trip without rushing too much. Our tour guide was a young man named Marcio who was very friendly and was a local of Sintra himself. We were blessed with great weather in the morning so we went around the beaches in Cascais and also visited the western most point of mainland Europe - Cabo da Roca. After that we visited the small village of Sintra and had lunch there. Marcio suggested some lunch spots and we opted for a vegetarian/vegan restaurant that was simply amazing and great value for money. We then ended the tour at Pena Palace. The tickets for the palace can be purchased online or the tour guide will give you the option to buy via their office and pay them at the end. Overall it was a great short day trip from Lisbon
