Full description
Experience Lisbon through the story of its food on a 3-hour walking tour to up to 5 different venues, including an old brewery and a famous café. Feel like you’ve traveled back in time at Rua das Flores Tavern, where a short, seasonal menu of traditional food includes cod, tuna and Iscas, a well know dish made from pork liver. Taste what´s on the menu of the day, before going to a beerhouse in a former monastery. Learn about the Trindade beerhouse, the 1st Portuguese brewery, later converted into a restaurant. Sample one of Lisbon’s most famous snacks: spat, octopus and cod mixed with chickpeas and served with a beer. Next, try an irresistibly crumbly pastéis Lisboa at Café Lisboa. Then, admire the extravagant décor of the 17th-century Moorish palace of Casa do Alentejo, now one of Lisbon’s most exquisite restaurants. Here, you will taste the traditional food of south Portugal, where the main elements are bread and aromatic herbs. Visit Confeitaria Nacional, the oldest establishment of its kind in Lisbon. Famous for its traditional cakes and pastries, sample one of their legendary custard tartlets with a coffee. Alternatively, go to the old tavern of Amigos da Severa to hear some live fado music, and drink Lisbon´s best ginjinha (cherry liquor).

Ariane did a great tour of Lisbon's restaurants and cafes, very informative with lots of insider tips and special places. Since our family was alone, she turned 3 into 4 hours. It was very entertaining and we were able to use a lot in the next few days. When booking, you should ask for Ariane as your guide.

Our guide for the Lisbon tour was Sandra. We were lucky that we were allowed to be alone with her. As a family, we were in this beautiful city for the fifth time and knew each other well. Sandra showed us many restaurants, cafés and local specialties away from tourism that we did not know and would probably never have tried on our own. Sandra was a really great guide for us. We had a wonderful and fun evening that we will probably remember for a long time. We would definitely recommend this tour. It is best to do this at the beginning of your vacation. So you can try everything on your own on the following days, which we also did. Dear Sandra, we tell you from the bottom of our hearts ❤️ thank you very much for the great evening with you, your lots of information, your happiness, your patience and your big heart. Maybe we'll see each other again on our next vacation. Greetings from Nils, Uwe and Corina

We had booked the walk in German, but unfortunately we were told that the guide was ill and we could do it in English. A day later we started. However, we think that there were not enough participants, because there were only four of us in this round. After a bumpy start, a really pleasant tasting trip followed.
