The card itself is fantastic however if you don't pick up card at airport getting the card is a giant inconvenience. We flew into Lisbon but were going to Porto first so decided to pick up card in Lisbon. All the locations are right down in the heart of tourist area which is great only if you are staying in that area. If you are outside of that area you are a 45 minute walk away as you don't have access to Metro yet.

After exchanging your GetYourGuide voucher for the magnetic card, the Lisbon Card immediately provides 24-hour, 48-hour, or 72-hour access to the public transport system. Eligible on the Carris metro, buses, trams, and cable railways, it also works on CP trains between Cais do Sodré and Cascais, and trains between Oriente, Rossio, and Sintra.   Enjoy free access to the Jerónimos Monastery, the Belem Tower, the National Tile Museum, the National Coach Museum, and others. Admire stunning palaces, including the Mafra National Palace and the Ajuda National Palace. Ride the famous Santa Justa Lift, and much more—all with one card. During Christmas week, opening hours may vary. Public museums may be closed on December 24th, 25th, 31st and January 1st. Please check in advance.

  • The Lisboa Card is personal and not transferable. It is not valid unless signed and completed with the date and time at which you will start using the card
  • The national monuments and museums are closed on Mondays
  • National monuments and museums are closed on the following dates: January 1, Easter Sunday, May 1, December 24 and 25, and on municipal holidays (June 13 in Lisbon and June 29 in Sintra)
  • Please note that buses within Sintra are not included, as they are operated by different companies
  • It is mandatory to download the Lisboa Card Guide on your mobile, in order to have all the use instructions
  • Please note that Castelo de São Jorge is Free *Except children aged 13 to 15.
  • Please note that Padrão dos Descobrimentos is close from December 16th for rehabilitation works for a period of around three months.
