Departure to Nazaré
Your tour begins with a convenient pick-up from your hotel and a scenic 1-hour and 15-minute drive to Nazaré. Along the way, learn from your guide about Nazaré’s reputation as one of the world’s top big-wave surfing destinations, made famous by record-breaking waves.

Explore the Traditional Fishing Village
Upon arrival, take a quick tour of Nazaré’s charming fishing village, known for its colorful boats, traditional fish-drying racks, and authentic coastal culture. This stop offers a glimpse into the town’s maritime history and its roots as a humble fishing community.

Wave Watching at Praia do Norte
Head to Praia do Norte, the site of some of the biggest waves ever surfed. Spend as much time as you’d like at the wave-watching spot, where you can marvel at surfers riding the massive swells (season-dependent, with the best chance of waves from mid-October to mid-March). Your guide will take you to the prime vantage points, ensuring you don’t miss any action.

Forte de São Miguel Arcanjo
Visit Forte de São Miguel Arcanjo, the historic lighthouse perched above Praia do Norte. Óbidos: A beautifully preserved medieval town surrounded by ancient castle walls, known for its cobblestone streets and the famous Ginjinha liqueur served in chocolate cups.

After a full day of exploration, relax on the drive back to Lisbon, arriving at your hotel by approximately 5:30 PM. Note that the order of the events may be altered due to your preferences or more favorable times for the wave watching. On the half day option the focus will be solely in the waves and Nazaré village.
